There are two distinct pathways to obtaining the PAC visa: the Highly Qualified Professional route and the Intra-Company Transfer route, each with its own requirements. It is aimed at professionals, senior management, and graduates, allowing them to work as employees in Spain. If you have exceptional professional skills and career opportunities in Spain, this visa provides a strong pathway to establishing roots in the country.

Highly Qualified Professional Visa

This visa is intended to attract top talent to contribute to Spain’s economy. To qualify, you must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Highly qualified professional: Possess exceptional skills and experience in your field, demonstrated through professional achievements, publications, or patents.

• Senior management: Hold a senior management role with significant decision-making authority and strategic responsibilities.

• Prestigious graduate: Hold a graduate or postgraduate degree from a renowned university or business school.

• Salary requirements:

  • Managerial or director position: Minimum salary of €54,000.

  • Academic or scientific position: Minimum salary of €40,000.

  • Exceptions: A 25% reduction applies if under 30 years old or working for an SME in a strategic sector.

There is no strict legal definition of a "highly qualified worker," and applications are evaluated based on a set of pre-determined criteria.

Intra-Company Transfer Visa

This visa facilitates the transfer of skilled employees within multinational companies to their Spanish branches. To be eligible, you must:

• Be employed by the company: Hold a valid employment contract with the company transferring you.

• Transfer within the same company or group: The transfer must be between entities of the same company or corporate group.

• Hold a relevant role: Typically reserved for senior managers, specialists, or trainees undergoing specific training programs.

Other General Requirements

• Age: Applicants must be over 18.

• Clean criminal record: Provide a police clearance certificate covering the last two years plus a responsible declaration covering the last five years.

• Proof of residence: Demonstrate that you live or study in the consular district where you are applying.

• Valid passport: Must be valid for at least one year beyond your intended stay and have at least two blank pages.

Family Members

Family members can apply for dependent visas under the PAC visa scheme. Eligible family members include:

• Spouse or unmarried partner: Legally recognized partners can accompany you.

• Dependent children: Children under 18, or financially dependent adult children who have not formed their own family unit.

• Dependent parents or grandparents: If under your care.

Each family member must submit required documents, including proof of relationship and financial dependence (if applicable).

Required Documentation

When applying for the PAC visa, you must provide the following:

• National visa application form: Completed and signed.

• Photographs: Passport-sized, recent, and meeting Spanish visa photo guidelines.

• Valid passport: Issued within the last decade, valid for at least a year beyond your stay.

• Residence permit: Issued by the Large Companies and Strategic Groups Unit.

• Criminal record certificate: Issued within the last six months.

• Proof of residence: Evidence of your legal residence in the consular district where applying.

• NIE Number: Required for identification in Spain before submitting the application.

• Legalized and translated documents: All foreign documents must be translated into Spanish by an official translator and legalized.

• Dependent applicants: Proof of relationship with the main applicant (e.g., marriage certificate, birth certificate, financial dependency proof if applicable).
