A Spark of Magic: The Birth of Yon
Back in the summer of 2020, we put out an open invite on LinkedIn to come and work with us at a château in a beautiful corner of rural France. Figuring working-from-home was being taken a little too literally, we wanted to explore a new place and meet some amazing people along the way.
To our surprise, people came—friends and strangers alike—and what followed was a little slice of magic. This simple idea evolved into Yon Living, a hospitality venture that brought together a vibrant community of like-minded individuals. We expanded to new destinations, hosting pop-ups in Sicily, Gran Canaria, Morocco, and more, all while navigating the chaos of ever-changing travel restrictions.
From Community to Roots: The Birth of Yon Visa
When we finally took a step back, we realized something powerful: the magic wasn’t just in the places we went or the experiences we created; it was in the community we built. As more members of that community began exploring a life in Portugal, we naturally found ourselves helping them navigate the often daunting visa process.
This transition—from creating spaces for people to connect and thrive, to guiding them as they planted roots—led to the launch of Yon Visa. Built on the same principles of support, transparency, and community that defined Yon Living, Yon Visa is here to make relocating to Portugal easier for everyone.
